Brazil nuts
These fruits, or so-called nuts, are wild-harvested in the Amazon rainforest of Bolivia, Brasil and Peru. They are an important part of rainforest preservation, since they only exist in thriving forests where specific kinds of large-bodied, pollinating bees are present. Each season, thousands of Amazonian families collect brazil nut seeds, strentghening both the econcomic development and nature conervation in poor, remote areas.
